Many of you know I use a Crown Financial program to keep tabs on the money God sends through me. So, I don't really need to tell you that I LOVE THIS PROGRAM. And that it's helped me a lot and that its super easy and that it's worth spending 10 dollars a month to know I'm being a better steward.
About 5 years ago I found myself about to get through my internship at the hospital with a zeroed savings balance, no job and about 10,000 in student loans (FYI, not back at church either, yet). When I got a job about my second pay check I decided I "needed" a new car. So, enter the red car and another 9,000 of debt after a trade in. It was right about this time I landed at the Danville Church.
I had NO IDEA what I was doing. Not long into my career with the Bible Study at Danville, which I've mentioned here before Steve talked briefly about stewardship in an unplanned conversation with someone, and I overheard. I knew things needed to change, and was pretty harshly convicted. And a friend there helped me with some basic budgeting that I had never done before. Pretty much immediately after that I started trying to do better and some things happened that helped take big steps that were encouraging. I believe that was God letting me know He was pleased and reminding me He was with me when I choose to do it His way.
So anyway, long story short I found I spent a lot more money than i realized on things I didn't even think about. Today, I got my Mvelopes newsletter and it has a link to this article that is kinda like what really made me say "OH MY WORD, NO WAY, I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT" and decided it was worth sharing with you. It's kinda crazy really when you think about it this way.
I just never had before then, so I'm sharing the wealth, the way it was shared with me. Take it or leave it, it's up to you.
God is such a sucker for a sinner, and man am I glad! He's SO good!

I love reading your blogs. I can totally hear you saying what I'm reading. Especially when you type the words in caps. Plus your entries are usually insightful, funny, encouraging, convicting,or godly, and some are all of those at once!
Love ya!

Too bad they don't offer commission, because you are a good salesman for them :) You convinced me awhile back.
More reasons why not to like coffee. Coffee is nasty. Choc. covered doughnuts in vending. WHOA. That crosses the line.
I only have a problem with 8 of those, so I should be okay, right?
An unused gym membership costs $480 per year? So what does a used gym membership cost...$480?...Amazing!
