Be careful what you pray for

Recently I've been praying a lot for the following two items:

1. Patience
2. That I'd think highly enough of my God to stop my ridiculous worrying about things in my life right now.

God's giving me lots of opportunities this week to put up or shut up (and in case you haven't been living in my head, the "put up" column is a little on the skinny side). I'm not dead yet, but if I don't make it to Saturday have fun without me.

I wish I were as ready to learn things as I tend to think I am.

I hate the sins I fight daily, especially since I know I don't have to if I'd only take His Truth seriously.

I totally understand! Whenever I pray for patience with Connor God gives me plenty of opportunities to practice!!! Also I"ve found that with the study we have been doing I am more the Holy Spirit is making me aware of my MANY sins! I love you though! Hang in there!

If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's to never, ever, EVER pray for patience. The only way to get patience is by going through things that build it... so no thanks!

That said, we're all out here praying for you, Melissa. Hang in there!

M. I can completely understand what you are going through. We all tend to worry about things out of our control. When those times come, if possible, take a moment to pray out loud. And, if not out loud turn our thoughts to God. As time goes on we will develop a "knee jerk" reaction to our own sins and just automatically turn to God at the first onset of improper thought patterns. This initial reaction will help us to not continue on in sin. This is why we must continue in the Word, daily, minute by minute and second by second.
