SUSHI!

It was an action packed day...ok not really, but I'm telling you about it anyway. Jeannie told me I needed to blog this story...you're getting a little more.

Jeannie and I we're sitting at Starbucks, waiting to meet MelEik for lunch. Jeannie is working on some stuff and trying to have a "can you hear me now" conversation with Wendy. I'm a little spacey and just sitting there listening to people. I hear the customer at the counter and the dude barista talking about Sushi and how they both love it...I'm of course interested because, well I love Sushi too (don't judge if you've never had it, I thought I would throw up if I ate it the first time and fell in love...)

Anyway...so this "I think I'm the coolest college kid" says to the middle aged man across the counter, in a rather "I know everything" tone..."Have you been to Ocean World in Indy, it's the best anywhere, really you've GOT to try it if you haven't you don't know what REAL sushi is"...it just so happens that I have been there and it was one of the best that I've experienced, until I went to Hawaii, which is very close to Japan if you're not so good with geography and highly populated by the Japanese.

So, I'm looking at this man, the one across the counter, as he smiles, sighs and looks that kid right in the face and says, "No, I haven't been but I've been to Japan several times," picks up his cup and walks away.

As he's walking away the ,kid, stumbling for words and kinda dumbfounded, says "Oh, ah, ya Touché"

Anyway, thought it was pretty funny...now I want to go to Japan.

I love it! Cracks me up. I actually laughed all alone in my apartment. (Good thing the roomie's not here. She doesn't needed added proof of insanity...)

I love sushi as well. I thought I was being amazing and cultured when I tried it- I had my fake "I really like this!" smile ready to go, and I didn't even use it. Although it's still not Japan- there's this great place in Bloomington.

Mkate, you are like an interesting story magnet! Everything seems to happen around you or maybe you just have a keen gift of observation...and a good memory (which definetly helps out!)

Amee's been to Japan, but she HATES sushi! Obviously she didnt eat much over there :O)

Courtney, we'll need to go have sushi sometime b/c NO ONE in town will eat it with me, my treat, you have to pay your heat bill! :)

Jer, california rolls, sorta count :) And, while I wish "everything happened around me" but I think that would indicate some coolness factor, it's probably more appropriate to say "everything happens to me" and I'm just dumb enough to tell people about it because I like them to try to make them laugh if I can...
