If you've never seen the word ethnocentric, you might be. But that's better than being egocentric, which is what most bloggers are.
So... for those who might not know, what is you you do, exactly?
I think you are spending waaaaaaaay too much moolah to be called Dr. Maulding. And If that's the kind of garbage (#4) they teach you at our famous Centers for Higher Education, then I'm happy sticking with my lowly associates (non para-professional)degree.
Josh, nope not ethno, ego, eco, lego, or bucko centric - or any other centric that I'm aware.
Mad - you're hilarious, thanks for furthering my mental anguish! Did I say I hoped you felt better? I didn't mean it.
Dub2 - don't forget, as an employee, I get a great discount on my provision of lemon scented garbage. Furthermore, IF I ever achieve Dr. status (not holding my breath), the only person I'll make call me Dr is the guy that didn't like the way I was trying to explain my occupation to my hypothetical low literacy adult learner.
I should mention that I do have a normal run of the mill, average joe prof that is much more tolerable.
Hey M. Kate!
Love the name of the blog!
How much are you paying for your schooling!? lol.
Jeremiah
Jeremiah, thanks...I'm kinda liking the red couch too - more as more as I grow more dependent :)
A to your Q -hahaha, time will tell
So I guess I won't ask actual questions on here anymore, lest I be mocked.
Maybe Theocentric or Christocentric would be okay. :)
Can I just say: It's so amazing that we know so many of the same people! Gret & I knew G-Knee and madmup at MBBC, then we meet you at CBC-Danville, then you moved to Lafayette and met G-Knee and madmup, and now we all know one another. It's so cool. It makes me really happy to think about, because WHAT ARE THE ODDS??? Now if only G-Knee and madmup could meet the crew at CBC-Danville: Jake, Johanna, JT. The circle would be complete...until one of us moves again. (Actually, maybe Gretchen and I have taken the first step toward expanding the circle by moving to L-ville.)
I wish Gretchen and I had taken more time to get to know you better at Calvary. In just the last year we've become pretty tight with some of your old gang there.
Mad- please forgive my assumptions regarding the nature of your inquiry. I don't know why I'd jump to such conclusions. So, more less - I train the staff, develop curriculum and training materials for the Family Nutrition Program - part of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service. I train the staff in the areas of fundamental nutrition, basic money management and food safety. See, this is why it's so hard - I can't just say I'm the Trainer for FNP. Because, no one knows what FNP is or CES, and "trainer" is a very abstract term. Thus, I hate telling people what I do - I either sound completely vague or like I'm trying to make myself sound really important (which I most certainly am not), why didn't I just become a firefighter...
Josh, agreed Christocentric - something to reach for. Also, it is crazy, this weird circle and yes I just told Jeannie last night I've proabably talked to you more on the blog than I did the 3 years I was at Calvary!
That didn't sound too complicated to me! Thank you for explaining it. Maybe you can (as a nutritionist) help me find things to eat that are good for me but would actually be things I might eat.
Good luck with that task, btw. "Herculean," I would dub it.
I will say one should never ever tell melissa that one drinks Organic milk.
Hardy, I know that's you. And all I said was you are more than welcome to to buy the "organic" milk. But, if it were me, I'd save the extra 3 bucks a gallon for a bonfire or something and invite friends to roast marshmallows - it'd be much more fun than spending it on the same stuff I'm getting for less :).
