Literature quote of the day

The last 24 hours were, well, interesting over here. I can acutally sit up now and decided I was going to try to read a little, instead of lying around staring at the ceiling. So, I'm sitting here drinking my orange gatorade (which I will be forever indebted to Jeannie for getting for me. If someone would've given me the choice of a bottle of gatorade or a million dollars, without question, the gatorade....)

So, anyway, I'm reading one of the umpteen books I'm reading right now (I'm staring to feel like a "novice gretchen") and I busted out laughing, and then as I read further thought "true dat Chuck" and decided this had to go on the blog. It's a bit of commentary about Mark 6:14-29 from Charles Stanley:

"What would you think of a man who lived alone in the desert, wore camel skins, and ate wild honey and locusts? And how would you feel if this man said you needed to let God change your life?

You can see why many people who heard about John the Baptist went to see him out of sheer curiosity.

But John was no lunatic, and neither was his message his own. God prepared John to announce the coming of Jesus Christ. John was a man of great spiritual discernment who knew the difference between those who came with humble, repentant hearts, and those who came to mock or criticize.

When you ask God for discernment, He gives it to you freely. For those who truly seek His face and His direction for their lives, the Lord brings a wisdom that can come only from Him."

Edit* thanks to my brother for letting me know that John was in the "desert" not the "dessert" I guess you all got to laugh even more than I did. :)

Hey girl! Hope you are feeling better soon!

I'm fighting off my own virus - seems to be a very bad cold.

Hey girl! Glad your resting and getting your fluids. Hope your feeling back to normal soon. Great reading. I love that John reference whenever I hear it, so true. Hey, anyone from the red couch going to the showers this weekend?
