I've been nursing my poor laptop for about a month now. Night before last, it said it's final fairwell. I've been getting it to stay powered by constantly manipulating the power cord. I was trying desparately to get it to make a connection long enough that I could get enough juice to get some stuff off the hard drive last night. So, because I'd pretty much given up on the thought of it working, I decided, since I know so much about electricity and computers, that I'd just cut the plastic layer from around the cord, to see if there was any remaining connection at all and if, in fact, there was any possible way it could be rigged a little to get me a few glorious minutes.
So, this is a poor picture, I had Jeannie take it with her cell phone and send it to me. BUT - you can see that the poor guy has seen better days. The original wiring I'm going to guess at something like a centimeter - the remaining connecting wiring about, ya a milimeter - as you can tell by it's sorry downward angle now minus it's plastic sheath.
So, it made me chuckle that I was so frustrated with my poor cord. Having now realized, he had given me all he had. And, that furthermore, what I was asking him to do could be likened to asking a 6 year old to sit for the S.A.T. on a breakfast of zingers and whole milk.
This is something the world needs to know about me: my expectations are inevitably too high.
Thanks for trying little guy, you did your best.

I apologize for the blurriness of the pictures...I am hoping that that will not occur again after purchasing a new camera...
Way to go...Little Power Cord...you did a good job for me too. I'll replace ya, but I won't forget ya. (I don't think I will anyway.)
It's so sad to see young electronics die :(
So long, Little Guy. We salute you!
Is that bag pipes playing amazing grace I hear?
Must just be Lee's phone ringing. :)
