So I was helping clean up after our big teen/parent Teen Ministry Transition Meeting today, it'd been a LONG day. I'd been up since 6, not slept so great and it was now nearly 3.
A pastor's wife (who shall remain nameless) approached my person. The conversation went something like this:
Pastor's Wife: Melissa, I've been reading your blog...(pause)...
Mk: *oh no, now what* *feeling immediately nauseous* *relatively positive my heart skipped at least 2 beats, consecutively*
Pastor's Wife: After reading your post about your brother, well, I think I'm a "lurker". But, your blog is hilarious and you are a good writer.
Mk: *whew, didn't think I was ready to handle much more this week* *little embarrassed* Oh, well thanks, I'm actually not a good writer, but I do like to try to make people laugh and life's been giving me lots of material to work with.
Pastor's Wife: Well maybe I'll work up the courage to comment sometime. I think blogging can be ok, if it's used for the right reasons and it seems like maybe you do.
Mk: *that made me feel kinda good* Ya, you should, you realize I may have to post about this.
Pastor's Wife: *laughs while we said our goodbye's and exists stage left*
So, "nameless pastor's wife" you're now the star of this post. Is that enough pressure to draw you to the couch?
Guess we'll wait and see...

Okay, okay, so much for the suspense. Although I'm wondering why is it someone would need to be anonymous when they guessed it would be me? Anyway, yes, Melissa, I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog (when I think of it and have time) -- it is very funny, and I do appreciate not only your hilarious humor (the laugh out loud kind) but also your heart that is clearly communicated in your more serious moments. Thanks for inviting me personally to post -- it feels good not to lurk anymore!
