SNL, I don't get it
Why is it that so many of my friends are in love with ridiculous SNL actors/movies resulting from their SNL exploits...? Farrah once pledged to marry Adam Sandler and now Jeannie is obssessed with Will Farrells lame attempts at humor. I do have to admit I can't turn down a good Sandler movie, (I said GOOD, he has several that are plain stupid - i.e. Little Nicky and that one he hocks pizza, while attempting to author greeting cards all while inheirting loads of money...), but "now adays" I prefer the TNT or TBS versions. Mark, Ghost Busters and Strange Brew??? You are old.

I was just telling Pastor Dutton last night - "I can tell the Career Class is starting to accept me - they've taken to calling me 'old' and making fun of my car."
And some movies are timeless classics. "Ghost Busters" never goes out of style, sorta like "Casablanca," but funnier.
And "Mr. Deeds" wasn't Sandler's best (that would be "The Wedding Singer," of course!), but it did have Winona Ryder in it, so it gets a lot of points for that.
Uh, M-Cat - if we are ever to be really good roommates, you're going to have to learn to spell my name right.
JeanNie
Gknee - i don't know what you're talking about it's spelled correctly (thanks to the beauty of editing)! Sorry chica, I'll stick to the blog version it's easier for my spelling deficiency.
Mark, if you ever compare Ghost Busters to Casablanca again...
I could do worse... I could mix them together, for example.
"We'll always have ... the Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man."
Mark - you're dead to me.
Awww :(
Well, I guess I had a nice run.
Here's looking at you...Venkman.
Hey Mel,
Thanks for the email about your blog. I created one last week (how ironic) and it is exciting too see that people I know have blogs too. I'm still figuring this all out, but it looks like you've got it down! Hope your week is going well. I am getting over being sick and I just took Connor to the Dr today (ANOTHER ear infection) but that only means the rest of the week has to get better....Happy Blogging.
I do like the name of your blog. I thought everyone spelled Geannie g-knee. Sorry Heannie Anyways, I was thinking of good ole movies! What about the Goonies! I can hear Cindy's title song now something about a bop! I think! I love the idea of a bunch of friends going on an ADVENTURE!!! Have a great Day Love Michelle Hardy
if you want good humor, you have to include Chris Farley. Not all clean...duh. He had some good SNL skits (I have the "Best of" DVD in case you want to watch). "The Motivational Speaker" What a work of art! :) Melissa, you would even find that one funny! And for a bigger laugh, get Pete to impersonate for you. What a riot!
No! No! Happy Gilmore is by far his best!
Mel - Sandler is good but his doesn't hold a candle next to Ferrell...Ferrell's like a millions times funnier...
Mark...Hey! Us wagon guys have to stick together...we're a dieing breed...for example...to Mel you're already dead (which seems a little harsh to me) but don't worry...I'm sure I wan't be too far behind...
I agree with M.E. "DOWN BY THE RIVER!"
Jason, you obviously have not experienced the beauty of Casablanca to deem my reaction to Mark "harsh" In fact, I submit for your consideration that neither has Mr. I chose Weird Al on blueberries to represent me, quoting two of the most well known lines in moviedom doesn't prove anything.
M.E. and S.S - I concur the late Chris Farley had his moments. I'm sorry I can't place the down by the river remark - you'll have to help me out. Oh and J.H. - glad I'm not the only person that can't spell!
I actually watched "Casablanca" for the first time in 2004 and quite liked it.
I still quote "Ghost Busters" way more, though.
In answer to your Casablanca challenge:
Bogey: Rick
The chick: Ilsa (or Elsa?)
And I believe Casablanca is in Morocco, isn't it?
I'd give you the date I watched the movie, but I didn't start journaling my movie watching until 2005. Sorry.
Ummm Mel,
I believe you spelled "plegged". I think you were looking for "pledged". Or maybe "pegged". But I'm pretty sure there is no combination of the word. :-D
Tutewiler, YOU MADE IT TO THE BLOG!! Awesome - thanks for the editing help - when I went back to change Plegged - I realized I screwed up typing your name too - you're in good company - I can't spell JEANNIE either :). I know you're jealous of the new blog!
OK Mark, I consider you resurrected, we’ll bury the movie hatchet, past is past. I might be leaning toward believing you. Time will tell...please tell me that "movie journaling" is a joke for Pete's sake!
It's not. I've journaled the last two years of my movie watching.
*sigh*
I think there's something wrong with me.
But I'm glad we can bury this movie hatchet :)
by the way - the "chick" was Ingrid Bergman - and just for clarity...Gknee knows me well enough to know that I'm supra-saracastic ("mark-you are dead to me"). I guess you probably don't yet-now you know the rest of the story. All in fun Ray!
Yeah, I had a slight mental lapse and couldn't remember the actress -- and I picked up on the sarcasm pretty easily, so no worries! Peace out, Venkman!
Hmmm..sounds like a Best of Chris Farley night, complete with hot cocoa is in your future!
Thanks S.S. for the ackowledgement.... How about the "Chris Farley Show" skits? "Umm y-you remember that time when..." :) HILARIOUS!
Absolutely! I have some pretty tight weekends coming up - parents and bro coming up this weekend - AIG with Jr.High next weekend, after that I'm in counseling training, following that Jr High Winter Camp. So, my social calendar won't be free until 2/23-2/24. You pick the date and then we'll do the invitin.' "A list" Red Couchers only, of course. So if you think you perhaps aren't currently a member of the "A list," but dont' want to miss the fab Farley/Chocolate party - get to commentin' ASAP, there's a war on here folks!
